We have a new helper for the vineyard. This is our 1960 Renault V73 which we’ll use to lug a sprayer round the flat bits. Shelley the Chenillard is fantastic for ploughing but she’s too unwieldy for the spraying. This tractor has a sprayer which is carried rather than towed and has a long hose from the sprayer, so we’re planning to drive it round the roads between the vines and spray on foot alongside it. It was a real bargain, so we’re hoping it works as we plan.

The tractor certainly starts and runs well, having been driven 20km to get here. Now it needs some new tyres, then we can take it up to the vineyard. Luckily a new tyre fitters have just opened in Roujan.

Meanwhile we’re out of bottled wine, so guess what we’ll be doing next week. We need some for Christmas and we have Enough ready for 900 bottles. That should see us through!
